Feeder
The components to be placed on the boards are
usually d
elivered to the production line in either
paper/plastic tapes wound on reels or plastic
tubes. The feeder removes the cover tape and
presents the component ready for picking by
the Pick
-&-Place system.
Tape feeders are designed for tape
-packed SMD
components (tape carriers, tape and reel).
Stick feeders are designed for stick
-packed SMD
components (stick carriers).
