4.3.9 Qualify the Output
The output qualification depends on the factory business process. The following methods are just
an idea for a simple standard qualification.
Analyze output on machine
Produce
Production
Check the parameter
Completed PCB. The bar
must be green and the number of placed
components, respectively the number of
dispensed components or dispensing patterns
must be equal to th
e total amount.
Produce
Place Control
Multiselect
Pick out at random either on the graphical
section or on the component list all the
components with critical placement positions.
Inspect selected
The camera will move from component to
component for
the inspection by the operator.
Analyze output with automatic optical inspection system (AOI)
The AOI is an inspection system off-site the machine. It inspects the assembled or dispensed PCBs
automatically and indicates possible faults like empty component positions or empty dispensing
positions, wrong orientation of a component, wrong dot sizes, bad placements etc.
The results can be used to correct or improve the process on the Paraquda.
Analyze output manually off-site the machine
Similar to the AOI the dispensed PCBs are inspected off-site the machine manually by means of
magnifying glass or other utilities. Possible faults like empty component positions or empty
dispensing positions, wrong orientation of a component, wrong dot sizes, bad placements etc. are
indicated.
It is recommended to do an analysis after some changes of the process.
It is a must to do the analysis after the very first production of a PCB. The board has to be checked
against the specification for:
orientation of the components
