12.3 Enabling AIS
Enabling AIS in the Chart application
To enable the AIS overlay in the Chart application
follow the steps below.
To enable the AIS overlay your system must include
an AIS receiver or transceiver. The AIS overlay is
not available in 3D view.
From the Chart application menu:
1. Select Presentation.
2. Select Overlays.
3. Select AIS: so that On is selected.
Selecting AIS: switches the AIS between On and
Off.

Enabling AIS in the Radar application
From the Radar application menu:
1. Select AIS.
2. Select Display AIS:.
3. Select the relevant option from the list:
i. All All AIS target within range will be
displayed.
ii. Dangerous Only AIS targets that are within
your specied Safe distance are displayed.
iii. Off AIS targets are not displayed.
12.4 AIS context menu
When an AIS target is selected, the Chart application
context menu includes AIS target information and
menu options.
The context menu provides the following AIS target
data:
Buddy Name / Vessel Name / MMSI
CPA
TCPA
COG
SOG
The context menu also provides the following menu
options:
AIS Vector Switch target vectors On or Off.
AIS Data Switch on-screen target data On or
Off.
Show Interceptions Switch individual Target
interception On or Off.
View AIS Data
Add Buddy Add target to the buddy directory.
Acquire Target (only available if Radar overlay is
switched on.)
Slew IR camera (only available when a pan / tilt
thermal camera is connected and operating.)
Accessing the context menu
1. Non-touchscreen and HybridTouch displays:
i. Move the cursor over the area or object and
pressing the OK button.
2. HybridTouch and Touch only displays:
i. Select and hold on an area or object, or
ii. With the Chart Call-out displayed select the
Call-out box.
