21.1 MFD Wi-Fi
MFDs that include built in Wi-Fi can connect to Wi-Fi
access points / mobile hotspots and can also act as
a Wi-Fi Access point for other devices.
Personal computers / Smart devices can be
connected to the MFD to enable:
use of compatible Mobile applications on your
smart device,
the smart device to log the MFD in to networks
that require user authentication,
access to the built-in web interface (from your
smart device) of compatible products such as the
AX8 Thermal camera.
The MFD can be connected to a Wi-Fi Access
point / mobile hotspot to enable available MFD
internet services such as checking online for product
software updates.
The MFD can be connected to a Wi-Fi Access point
/ mobile hotspot at the same time as acting as an
Access point for other devices. If the MFD has
an internet connection then this connection can be
shared with other devices connected using Wi-Fi and
with MFDs on the same SeaTalk
hs
network.
Only 1 MFD on the same SeaTalk
hs
network can be
connected to an access point at a time, all networked
MFDs will share this connection.
When the MFD’s Wi-Fi is enabled it will automatically
connect to previously accessed Access points /
mobile hotspots within range.
Note: When connected to a Quantum Radar
using a Wi-Fi connection a, c, e and gS Series
MFDs cannot connect to a Wi-Fi Access point at
the same time. The Radar must be placed into
Standby before trying to establish a connection to
the Access point.
