3.20 System software updates
Raymarine regularly issues software updates for
its products that can provide new and enhanced
features and improved performance and usability.
You should ensure that you have the latest
software for your products by regularly checking the
Raymarine
®
website for new software. Raymarine
®
MFDs can be used to check and update the software
of compatible Raymarine
®
products.
You can identify product software versions using
the Diagnostics page on your MFD: Homescreen
> Set-up > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Select
Device.
The system update process can be used to update
all compatible products connected over SeaTalk
hs
and SeaTalk
ng®
.
Please refer to the Software Update section of the
Raymarine
®
website
www.raymarine.com/software
for details of compatible products.
Caution: Installing software
updates
The software update process is carried
out at your own risk. Before initiating the
update process ensure you have backed
up any important les.
Ensure that the unit has a reliable power
supply and that the update process is not
interrupted.
Damage caused by incomplete updates
are not covered by Raymarine warranty.
By downloading the software update
package, you agree to these terms.
Using your MFD to Check for software
updates online
When your MFD is connected to an Access point
which has an internet connection, the MFD can
check online for available software updates for your
Raymarine products.
Note: To check for software updates for connected
SeaTalk
ng®
products, you must use the Data
Master MFD.
See 21.2 Connecting to a Wi-Fi access point
/ mobile hotspot
for more information about
connecting your MFD to the internet.
Note: When connected to a Quantum Radar
using a Wi-Fi connection a, c, e and gS Series
MFDs cannot connect to a Wi-Fi Access point at
the same time. The Radar must be placed into
Standby before trying to establish a connection to
the Access point.
From the Maintenance menu: (Homescreen >
Set-up > Maintenance >
1. Select Check Online for Updates.
The MFD will now attempt to establish an
internet connection. Please follow any onscreen
instructions.
2. Once a connection is established the MFD will
check for new software updates available for your
Raymarine products.
3. Select the software updates that you want to
download.
Important:
Software les are downloaded to internal
storage or to MicroSD card depending on the
free space available.
Downloaded software les are deleted once the
software update process is complete.
4. Select Download and Install.
The software will now be downloaded to your
MFD and then installed on the selected products.

Software updates can be downloaded from the
Raymarine website.
To perform a software update you will need:
A PC or Apple Mac with an internet connection
and a card reader.
