26.7 Downloading and playing
(temporary) GRIB Files using
non-touch controls
When using a non-touch MFD or a HybridTouch
™
MFD that has its Touchscreen locked, follow the
steps below.
Note: In-App downloads require a valid Theyr
subscription from the LightHouse
™
Chart store:
https://charts.raymarine.com/ and an internet
connection to your MFD.
1. Select Menu > Weather Layers.
2. Select the required Data Type Icon using the
Rotary control and pressing the OK button.
The relevant GRIB File is downloaded from the
Chart Store and will begin playback automatically.
The Data Type Icon will appear colored to
indicate that data is available and a tick is placed
in the bottom right corner of the icon to indicate
the animation is being displayed. The animation
covers the area currently displayed onscreen.
Note: The Sea Surface Temperature data is not
animated.
3. With the animation playing you can use the
Animation Controls, by selecting Menu >
Animate Weather.
4. Use the Rotary control and OK button to:
• Pause/Play
• Skip forwards
• Skip backwards
5. To hide the animation:
i. Select: Menu > Weather Layers.
ii. Highlight the ticked Data Type Icon using the
Rotary control
iii. Press the OK button to deselect the current
animation.
iv. Press the Back button to close the Weather
Layers control.
The Icon will be unticked and le playback is
paused.
The Downloaded data will remain available until
a different Data Type Icon has been selected, a
different application is opened or the MFD is power
cycled.
26.8 Saving GRIB Files from the
Chart Store
Selecting the onscreen Data Type Icons downloads
the data temporarily, you can also download GRIB
les to your available storage.
It may be useful to download the les if:
• You need to use them in the future, at a time when
you may not have an internet connection available
to your MFD.
• You want to view the les to another MFD but do
not want to use your mobile data allowance to
download the same les twice.

connection to your MFD.
With the GRIB Viewer logged in to the Chart Store:
1. Select Forecast Files: from the Menu and then
select a storage location for the downloaded les:
• Internal
• MicroSD 1
• MicroSD 2 (If available)
2. Select Download Forecast from the Menu.
The Download Forecast page is displayed.
3. Select either Low or High the required resolution
Selecting High will enable the 1 Hour Time Step
setting.
4. Select the desired Time Step setting.
5. Select the relevant Icons for the data types you
want to download.
6. Adjust the Start and End points for the data using
the Time Frame bar at the bottom of the page.
The time frame available is dependent on the
Time Step selected (i.e. a 1 Hour Time Step will
contain more data than a 6 Hour Time Step
meaning that a 6 Hour Time Step can cover a
larger overall Time Frame than a 1 Hour Time
Step).
