Glossary
Customer portal
discoverFP
The customer portal offers the essentials for the
PostBase Vision mailing system via PC, e.g. a complete
overview of your orders, contracts, and invoices,
updates, and an online shop for consumables. The por-
tal is the place to go for comprehensive administrative
functions (accounts, profiles) and easy to use reporting
features.
Label Special self-adhesive label which you can meter and
stick onto your mail pieces. Necessary for large, heavy
and thick mail pieces. Also use labels to attach on the
mail piece when the envelope material is not suited for
ink-jet printing.
Meter imprint Metering mail for carrying by U.S. Postal Service.
When metering, PostBase Vision prints among other
things the indicia, the postage value, the date and the
machine identification on the envelope. Details on the
product (e.g. First-Class) appear below the postage.
Additionally, the meter imprint can contain custom
adverts, i.e. logos or texts, or information as QR codes.
PIN Personal Identification Number.
The PostBase Vision mailing system can be protected
against unauthorized use via a PIN.
Product Here meaning “postal product”. Service of the USPS,
e. g. the delivery of a First Class letter.
QR code A square data matrix (a pattern of small light and dark
squares) that lets you transmit electronically readable
information to the addressees of your mail.
QR is short for Quick Response.
PostBase Vision supports generating and printing such
QR codes and a plain text description as advertising
imprints.
