9.2 Media Loading Operations
Symptom Verication Items Solution
The media is dropped
off while scanning.
(1) Is the paper sensor exposed to
the strong light?
Yes ....Keep the paper sensor away from
strong light such as direct sunlight or
uorescent lamp.
No .....Verify item (2).
(2) Is the transparent media loaded.?
Yes ....Disable Media width detection. For
the details, please refer to the User’s
Manual 5.7.
No .....Verify item (3).
(3) Is the paper sensor dirty?
Yes ....Clean the rear paper sensor.
No .....Verify item (4).
(4) Is the cable between the paper
sensor and the main board
securely connected?
No .....Connect the cable securely.
Yes ....Replace the paper sensor.
The media is fed at an
angle.
(1) Are the pinch rollers set to the
correct position?
No .....Set the pinch rollers to the right
position.
Yes ....Verify item (2).
(2) Is the media loaded at an angle?
Yes ....Reload the media to be straight.
No .....Verify item (3).
(3) Is Pre-feed performed when
feeding a long media?
No .....Run Pre-feed when feeding a long
media.
Yes ....Verify item (4).
(4) Are the pinch rollers got dirty?
Yes ....Clean the pinch rollers.
No .....Verify item (5).
(5) Are the pinch rollers worn down? Yes ....Replace the pinch roller(s).
(1) Is the position of the media set
lever correctly set according to
the media width?
No .....Set the media setting lever to the
correct position.
Yes ....Verify item (2).
(2) Does the value of the media set
lever change correctly in service
mode?
No .....Make the initial value read with the
adjustment tool.
Yes ....Verify item (3).
(3) Is the encoder disk damaged?
Yes ....Replace the encoder disk.
No .....Verify item (4).
(4) Is the cam board damaged? Yes ....Replace the cam board.
