lifting. Unlatching the top caps is most easily done by releasing and lifting one side at a
time.
Before you remove the top cover, make sure to remove the associated
side covers.
The beam side panels do not contain latches and can be removed for ease of
maintenance. These panels are not removed during normal operation.
Figure 25 shows the scanner with a side cover removed. Note the bright orange vertical
bars to remind users that potential pinch points exists, and to exercise caution.

Purpose:
Beam covers are used to protect scanner components from environmental conditions, and
to isolate workers from moving drive components.
When side covers or top cap covers are removed, serious pinch point
hazards are present (see Figure 25).
