System Start-up Process
Once the installation is complete (this includes all system peripherals), perform the following steps to turn
on the computer system:
1. Turn on all externally connected peripherals. Make sure the peripherals are up with no errors.
2. Turn the computer key switch from STANDBY to ON (or SERVICE if needed).
When the key switch is placed in the ON (or SERVICE) position, the following sequence of displays are
present on the front panel display:

The Core I/O card for the HP9000/K460 workstation features additional jacks for microphone and
headset as shown in the figure below.
NOTE
Before performing the System Start-up Process, be sure all additional I/O cards and system
upgrades are installed. Refer to the appropriate configuration rules in this Chapter for the com-
ponent being added.
