6. Select Yes to reboot all nodes.
CAUTION:
Rebooting the VLS device places the VLS cartridges back into the same library slots and tape drives they
were in at the time of reboot. To move the cartridges fr om tape drives back into the appropriate slots, use
Force Unload fromthetaskbarvisiblewhenyouselectthetapedrivefromthenavigationtree.
Powering off the system
WARNING!
To reduce the risk of p ersonal injury, electric shock, or damage to the equipment, remove
the power cord to remove power from the node before removing the access panel. The front panel P ower
On/Standby button does not completely shut off system power. Portions of the power supply and some
internal circuitry remain active until AC power is removed.
To power off the system from the VLS CLI:
1. Verify that any backup or restore operation has completed and that the V LS is idle.
2. Open a s
erial session and log in as the administrator. See Opening a serial session.
3. Initia
te a shutdown of the VLS by entering:
shutdownSystem
4. If you will be removing the access panel from a node, wait until the VLS has completed its shutdown
operat
ion, then press the UID LED button. See Front panel LEDs and buttons.
Blue LEDs illuminate on the front and rear panels of the node.
5. Press the Power O n/Standby button on all nodes to place the nodes in standby mode.
When a
node activates standby power mode, the system power LED changes to amber.
6. If you
will be removing the access panel from a nod e:
a. Go to the back of the rack and locate the node by identifying the illuminated rear UID LED
button.
b. Unpl
ug the node AC p ower cords from the power source.
