CAUTION:
Restarting VLS device emulations places the VLS c artridges back into the sam e library slots and tape
drivestheywereinatthetimeofreboot/restart.Tomovethecartridgesfromtapedrivesbackintothe
appropriate slots, use Force Unload from the task bar visible when you select the tape dri ve fr om the
navigation tree.
To restart the VLS device emulations:
1. O pen a Command View VLS session and log in as the administrator. See Opening a Command
View VLS session from Command View TL.
2. Click Chassis in the navigation tree.
3. Click on System Maintenance under Maintenance Tasks .
4. Click Restart Emulations in the task bar.
The Restart Emulations window opens (Figure 60).

5. Click Restart Emulations to confirm.
Updating the software
CAUTION:
The VLS restarts automatically when a software update i s installed.
To update the VLS software:
1. O btain the VLS software update zip file from HP.
2. O pen a Command View VLS session and log in as the administrator. See Opening a Command
View VLS session from Command View TL.
3. Select Chassis in the navigation tree.
4. Click Software Update under Maintenance Tasks.
The Soft ware Upda te window opens (Figure 61).
