Step 4 Ensure that the ejector lever is engaged with the left partition board in the front
I/O module, and close the ejector lever to completely insert the hard disk into the
front I/O module. See step (2) in Figure 5-38.

5.5.5 Removing a Riser Card
This topic describes how to remove a riser card.
Scenarios
Remove a riser card if:
The riser card has failed.
A PCIe card on the riser card has failed.
Prerequisites
Conditions
You have powered
o the RH8100 V3. For details, see 6.2 Powering O the
RH8100 V3. Then you have removed all power cables from the server.
You have removed the front I/O module from the RH8100 V3. For details, see
5.5.1 Removing the Front I/O Module.
Data
You have obtained the cabinet number and chassis number of the RH8100 V3.
You have located the RH8100 V3 based on the preceding information, and
labeled its panel to prevent misoperations.
You have determined the position on the RH8100 V3 for removing a riser
card.
Tools
ESD gloves
Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag
M3 Phillips screwdriver
Procedure
Step 1 Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see 1 Safety Instructions.
Step 2 Press the button on the cover of the front I/O module. See step (1) in Figure 5-39.
Step 3 Remove the cover from the front I/O module in the arrow direction. See step (2)
in Figure 5-39.
