5.2.5 Removing a CPU
This topic describes how to remove a CPU.
When E7 v2/v3 CPUs are congured, use HFCs whose BOM number is 03022JBN.
When E7 v4 CPUs are congured, use HFCs whose BOM number is 03023URP.
When replacing CPUs of dierent platforms, ensure that new CPUs are compatible with
other components of the server. For details, use the Intelligent Computing
Compatibility Checker.

NO TICE
Only the personnel authorized by Huawei and Huawei technical support can
remove a CPU from a Huawei server.
Do not wear ESD gloves during CPU replacement. The gloves may catch on pins
on the CPU socket and damage it.
