CAUTION: Replace the power supply within two minutes of removal to prevent chassis
overheang. Before removing the power supply, ensure you have a replacement power
supply available.
CAUTION: The DC power supply you are installing must use the same airow direcon
as the fan trays installed in the router. Labels on the power supply handle indicate the
direcon of airow. See "PTX10001-36MR Cooling System" on page 21.
CAUTION: Before you replace a power supply in a PTX10001-36MR, ensure that you
have taken the necessary precauons to prevent electrostac discharge (ESD) damage
(see "Prevenon of Electrostac Discharge Damage" on page 173).
1. Place the anstac bag or the anstac mat on a at, stable surface.
2. Wrap and fasten one end of the ESD wrist strap around your bare wrist, and connect the other end
of the strap to the ESD point on the device.
3. Turn o the circuit breaker for the power feed to the power supply that you are replacing. Be sure
the LEDs turn o on the power supply that you are removing.
4. Loosen the thumbscrews for the power cable. Gently pull out the socket end of the power plug
connected to the power supply faceplate.
5. Disconnect a connector for the power cables or release each of three cables from the power supply
(requires a standard screwdriver).
6. Grasp the power supply handle while pressing the release latch towards the power supply handle.
7. Place one hand under the power supply to support it and slide it completely out of the chassis. Take
care not to touch power supply components, pins, leads, or solder connecons. See Figure 45 on
page 112.
