LeeBoy 6150 Conveyor Paver 5-21
Maintenance
Tires
The 6150 Conveyor Paver is a wheeled paver equipped
with front (steering) “bogie” rubber tires and rear (drive)
heavy-duty, liquid ballast tires. The rear tires should be
maintained at 80 - 90 PSI.
The front tires are molded onto the
wheel and do not require service. Replace front
tire(s) if worn or damaged.
Serious injury or even a fatal
accident can occur if tires are improperly mounted,
dismounted or inated. LeeBoy recommends tire
work be performed by your dealer or tire service
technician to prevent dangerous, faulty positioning
of the tire and/or rim.
Change Rear Tires
1. Turn off engine and block the wheels to prevent
movement.
2. Loosen every other wheel lug nut, then continue
loosening the remaining lug nuts.
3. Release any air (and liquid ballast if applicable) that
remains in the tire.
NOTE: Support the axle for tires lled with liquid
ballast.
4. Use a jack (or hoist) to lift the side of the machine.
5. Place jack stand supports under the machine.
6. Attach a sling (or other support) to the tire.
7. Remove all the lug nuts from the wheel.
8. Release any air that remains in the tire.
9. Using standard tire removal tools, remove the tire
from the wheel.
10. Install new tire on the wheel.
11. Add air, using a tire gauge to measure PSI.
12. Inate tire to 80 - 90 PSI.
13. Reinstall lug nuts, tightening every other one, then
tighten remainder. Torque according to torque
tables listed in Section 2.
14. Remove all support stands/blocks and recheck tire
PSI with full weight of the machine resting on the
tires. Add or release air to obtain correct PSI.
15. Torque lug nuts according to torque tables listed in
Section 2.

Generator Speed Check
The generator should never be
operated at a speed of 3800 RPMs or greater.
A voltmeter set to read frequency (Hz) can be used to
test generator speed. When the engine is running at
1800 - 2200 RPMs, the generator should operate at 60
Hz. Make certain that the paver engine is running at
1800 - 2200 RPMs and the hydraulic temperature is at
normal operating levels.
Generator Capacitor
The generator capacitor controls and regulates voltage
while the machine operates. If the capacitor fails, the
voltage will drop below normal or no output at all. It is
located under the generator cover.
If experiencing a drop in voltage, replacing the capacitor
will help determine if the capacitor is at fault.
To perform this procedure:
1. Shut down the machine.
2. Detach the wires on top of the capacitor.
3. Remove the capacitor and replace with new one.
4. Reattach wires.
DO NOT pressure-wash electrical
components, especially around the generator.
Protect electrical components when washing paver.
