4-20 LeeBoy 6150 Conveyor Paver
Operation
Posi-Trac and Pivot Steering
Wheel-driven pavers are more mobile than tracked pav-
ers, run smoother, use less power and pave faster. A
wheeled paver is sensitive to unstable base conditions
(such as sand or other soft bases). The 6150 paver is
equipped with Posi-Trac (positive traction) and Pivot
Steering systems to maintain that stability by increasing
or decreasing turning radius, or adding traction when
needed on the job site.
NOTE: Posi-Trac should only be used when
increased traction is required since it will
decrease turning radius while active.
The Posi-Trac system improves traction. It should
ONLY be used when paving on loose bases or slippery
surfaces, and turned OFF in tight steering situations (i.e.,
cul-de-sacs and pivot steering).
Positive traction is intended for limited use. Flip the
switch to the ON position when you need to prevent loss
of traction and slippage while paving. (Figure 4-40)

Figure 4-40. Posi-Trac and Pivot Steer Switches
Activating the Pivot Steer switch on the main control
panel decreases the turning radius to allow sharper
turns when needed.
NOTE: The Pivot Steer function will automatically
engage when the steering wheel is turned left
or right to its limit of travel, and will disengage
when the steering wheel is turned away from
its limit.
The switch is activated by:
• Moving the switch left ({).
• Moving the switch right (}).
NOTE: The 2-Speed switch must be in the OFF
position for the Pivot Steer switch to function.
Paver Operation
Spray Down
Always spray down the LeeBoy Model 6150 Conveyor
Paver before and after paving. Spray any part of the
paver that contacts asphalt with solvent or release agent
to prevent buildup that will damage the machine over
time. The green ller cap for the citrus tank is located on
the screed. (Figure 4-41)
Filler Cap
Valve
Figure 4-41. Citrus Tank Valve and Filler Cap
There is a spray down system on both sides of the
Leeboy 6150 Conveyor Paver for your convenience.
(Figure 4-42)
When using solvents and release
agents, consider the environment and DO NOT allow
cleaning solvent to run onto the ground. Only spray
down the machine in a designated area away from
the paving site.
Never spray cleaning solvent or
release agent near the screed heating element or
near open ame. These agents are highly ammable
and can ignite, causing serious personal injury.
• Ensure the area is clear of others before spraying.
• Open the hopper wings and raise the screed.
• Allow the screed to cool at least 10 minutes before
spraying to prevent possible burns from solvent
spray on a hot screed. The screed should be warm,
but not hot.
To operate the spraydown system:
1. Turn the Spray Down switch on the main control
panel ON. (Pages 3-6 to 3-7)
2. Extend hose from the reel. (Figure 4-41)
