Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Note:Whenyoudisconnectthepowersourcefromtheserver,youlosetheabilitytoviewtheLEDs
becausetheLEDsarenotlitwhenthepowersourceisremoved.Beforeyoudisconnectthe
powersource,makeanoteofwhichLEDsarelit,includingtheLEDsthatarelitontheoperation
informationpanel,andLEDsinsidetheserveronthesystemboard.
Step3.Removethetopcover(see“Removingthetopcover”onpage149).
Step4.Removetheopticaldrivefillerpanelifitisinstalled.Locatethebluereleasetabontherearof
theopticaldrivefillerpanel;then,whileyoupressthetab,pushtheopticaldrivefillerpanelout
ofthedrivebay.
Step5.Removetheretentionclipfromthesideoftheopticaldrivefillerpanel.Savetheopticaldrivefiller
panelforfutureuse.
