Step2.Turnofftheserver,anddisconnectallpowercordsandexternalcables.
Step3.Removethetopcover(see“Removingthetopcover”onpage149).
Step4.Pulltheharddiskdrivesorfillersoutoftheserverslightlytodisengagethemfromthebackplate
assembly/backplane.See“Removingahot-swapharddiskdrive”onpage158and“Removinga
simple-swapharddiskdrive”onpage161
fordetails.
Step5.Removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancageassembly”onpage178).
Step6.Insertthebackplateassembly/backplanetabsintoslotsonthebottomofthecageandpush
thebackplateassembly/backplaneforwardintothereleaselatch(ontopofthebackplate
assembly/backplanecage)untilthebackplateassembly/backplaneislockedinplace.
Note:Youcanconnectthecablestothedrivebackplateassembly/backplanebeforeinstallingthe
