instructions,anduseanypackagingmaterialsforshippingthataresuppliedtoyou.

UsethisinformationtoreplacethededicatedslotlessRAIDcontroller.
ThededicatedslotlessRAIDcontrollercanbeinstalledinthededicatedconnectoronthesystemboard(see
“System-boardinternalconnectors”onpage29forthelocationoftheconnectors).
ToreplacethededicatedslotlessRAIDcontroller,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on
page297.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables,
ifnecessary.
Step3.Removethetopcover(see“Removingthetopcover”onpage149).
Step4.Ifyouareinstallinganeworreplacementcontroller,touchthestatic-protectivepackagethat
containsthenewcontrollertoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceontheserver.Then,removethenew
controllerfromthepackage.
Step5.Alignthecontrollersothatthekeysaligncorrectlywiththeconnectoronthesystemboard.
Step6.InsertthecontrollerintotheRAIDconnectoronthesystemboarduntilitisfirmlyseated.The
retentionbracketssecurethecontrollerinplacewhenthecontrollerisfirmlyseatedintothe
connector.
