Thefollowingnotesdescribethetypeofpowersupplythattheserversupportsandotherinformationthat

youmustconsiderwhenyouinstallapowersupply:

•Beforeyouinstallanadditionalpowersupplyorreplaceapowersupplywithoneofadifferentwattage,

youmayusethePowerConﬁguratorutilitytodeterminecurrentsystempowerconsumption.Formore

•Theservercomeswithonehot-swap12-voltoutputpowersupplythatconnectstopowersupplybay1.

Theinputvoltageis100-127Vacor200-240Vacauto-sensingforACpowersuppliedandis-48Vdc

or-60Vdcauto-sensingforDCpowersupplies.

•Powersuppliesintheservermustbewiththesamepowerratingorwattage,andthesame80-plus

efﬁciencyleveltoensurethattheserverwilloperatecorrectly.Forexample,youcannotmix550-watt

and750-wattpowersuppliesintheserver.Moreover,youcannotmix750-wattPlatinumand750-watt

Titaniumsuppliesintheserver.

•Powersupply1isthedefault/primarypowersupply.Ifpowersupply1fails,youmustreplacethepower

supplywiththesamewattageandthesame80-plusefﬁciencylevelimmediately.

•Youcanorderanoptionalpowersupplyforredundancy.

•Thesepowersuppliesaredesignedforparalleloperation.Intheeventofapower-supplyfailure,the

redundantpowersupplycontinuestopowerthesystem.Theserversupportsamaximumoftwo

powersupplies.
