Important:IfyourSDadapteroptioncomeswithVMwarevSphereESXisoftwarepreloaded,youmustmake
configurationchangestoyoursystemUEFIbeforeinstallingtheSDadapterinyourcomputenode.Seethe

andinstructions.
ToinstalltheSDadapter,completethefollowingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on
page297
.
Step2.Turnofftheserver,anddisconnectallpowercordsandexternalcables.
Step3.Removethetopcover(see“Removingthetopcover”onpage149).
Step4.Removetheriser-cardassembly2(See“Removingariser-cardassembly”onpage186).
Step5.InserttheSDcards.
Step6.AligntheSDadapterwiththealignmentpinandtheconnector;then,lowertheSDadapterand
pushituntilitisfirmlyseated.
Step7.Fastentwoscrews.
