followingsteps:
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on
page297.
Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectallpowercords.
Step3.Removethetopcover(see“Removingthetopcover”onpage149).
Step4.Pulltheharddiskdrivesorfillersoutoftheserverslightlytodisengagethemfromthebackplate
assembly/backplane.See“Removingahot-swapharddiskdrive”onpage158and“Removinga
simple-swapharddiskdrive”onpage161fordetails.
Step5.Toobtainmoreworkingroom,removethefancageassembly(see“Removingthefancage
assembly”onpage178).
Step6.DisconnecttheSASsignalandpower/configurationcablesfromthesystemboard.
Note:Disengagealllatches,releasetabsorlocksoncableconnectorswhenyoudisconnectall
cablesfromthesystemboard.Failingtoreleasethembeforeremovingthecableswilldamage
thecablesocketsonthesystemboard.Thecablesocketsonthesystemboardarefragile.Any
damagetothecablesocketsmayrequirereplacingthesystemboard.
Step7.Pullthetwoplungerswhileyoupushthebackplateassemblytothelefttodisengagetheassembly.
