15. At the next Node (Node 2 in this example), switch STS-1 and/or
VT1.5 path from MAIN 2(P) to MAIN 1 with the
switch-path-sts1: and/or switch-path-vt1: commands.
16. Use the switch-sync: command to force line timing from MAIN

17. Remote login to Node 3 and switch STS-1 and/or VT1.5 path from
MAIN 1 to MAIN 2(P) with the switch-path-sts1: and/or
switch-path-vt1: commands.
18. Use the switch-sync: command to force line timing from MAIN
2(P).

NOTE:
A CP removed alarm will occur and an inc. OC-3 LOS
alarm will occur at the connecting Node when the MAIN 2(P)
OLIU is removed from this Node. Other nodes will receive
inc. VT and STS AIS alarms.
Lift the faceplate latch and remove optical fibers from MAIN 2(P)
OLIU for next span being established, then remove MAIN 2(P)

NOTE:
When the 24/29-Type OLIU is installed an
unexpected CP type status and
OC12 connector failed alarm will occur. An
inc. OC-12 LOF alarm will occur at the Node connected
to this OLIU.
Install a 24/29-Type OLIU into MAIN 2(P) OLIU slot and
reconnect optical fibers.
21. Connect the OC-12 faceplate connector between MAIN 1 and
MAIN 2(P) 24/29-Type OLIUs. Wait until OC12 connector
failed alarm clears.
