NOTE:
If the OC-3 ring is to be line timed (no external timing
available) from another system or ring,
BBF2B/BBF2C/BBF4 TGS/TG3 timing circuit packs must
be installed in the node connected to the other system and
the FUNCTION UNITS C slot must be equipped first to
provide a source of synchronization. See the set-sync:
command in the Commands and Reports section of this
manual.
Consult office records or work/circuit orders to determine the
OLIU function slots in each DRI node that will be used to connect
the two systems together in a DRI configuration. See Figure 1.
2.
NOTE:
If work order or office records do not specify OLIU types,
refer to 363-206-200,
DDM-2000 OC-3 and OC-12
Multiplexers, Applications, Planning, and Ordering Guide
and/or 363-206-285,

description of OLIU circuit packs and applications. Optical
line power measurements and/or office records must be
used to verify that the span length can be supported.
DLP-504At the DDM-2000 OC-3 dual ring interworking nodes, install OLIU
circuit packs in selected FUNCTION UNIT slots.
3. If FT-2000 shelves are the dual ring interworking nodes, use
FT-2000 procedures in 365-575-103,
