Receive Functions 7
The major receive functions of the MXRVO are as follows:
■ Terminates STS-1 path
■ Demultiplexes the STS-1 SPE into seven VT-G signals
■ Supplies the seven VT-G signals to the DS1 circuit packs
■ Provides timing signals to DS1 circuit packs.
Control Functions 7
Major control functions are as follows:
■ STS-1 path overhead processing
■ Protection switching for OLIU circuit pack protection
■ Protection switching for DS1 circuit pack protection
■ Inventory information (
CLEI
code, date of manufacture, etc.).
Maintenance Signal Functions 7
The major maintenance signal functions are as follows:
■ Detects STS-1 path AIS coming from the fiber
■ Inserts VT path AIS
■ Inserts and detects STS-1 path yellow signals
■ Inserts VT path unequipped signals.
