• When operating the crane, appoint a work
supervisor and follow the supervisor's
instructions.
Follow the supervisor's instructions on work
methods and procedures. Agree on signs and
follow those signs.
• Hoisting long loads may cause the load to
become unstable, which is dangerous. When
hoisting long loads, attach ropes to both ends
to stabilize the hoisted load.
• Do not allow unauthorized personnel to
approach the working radius or stand under
the load because of risks of falling loads and
collisions with loads. Otherwise, there is a risk
of serious personal injury. Also remember that
the working radius increases when the load is
hoisted and the boom deflects.
• Operations exceeding the machine's
performance specifications can cause
accidents or failure. Crane operations must
always be carried out in accordance with the
rated total load chart.
• Be careful to prevent the wire rope and/or
hoisted load from coming into contact with
obstructions such as trees or girders when
hoisting a load.
If the wire rope becomes entangled by an
obstruction, do not forcibly wind up the hoisted
load, but untangle the caught part before
winding up.
• Do not pull a load laterally, draw it in, or hoist it
diagonally. Otherwise, there is a risk of the
crane toppling or being damaged.
• It is dangerous to operate the crane in bad
weather or when visibility is poor.
Use work lamps or other lighting equipment in
dark places to ensure adequate lighting.
When visibility is poor because of bad weather
(rain, fog, snow, etc.), stop the operation and
wait until the weather improves.
• Do not use the crane for purposes other than
intended, such as lifting or lowering personnel.
• If the alarm buzzer of the overwinding
prevention device sounds, immediately release
your hand from the winch lever. Winding-up of
the hook block stops. Next, operate the winch
lever downward (i.e., push it forward) to wind
down the hook block. Boom extending also
hoists the hook block. Allow sufficient distance
between the boom and hook block when
operating the crane.
• Extending the boom winds up the hook block.
Operate the winch lever downward and extend
the boom while lowering the hook block.
• If an overload occurs while working, operate
the winch lever downward and hoist down the
winch to unload.
Do not raise or lower the boom violently.
Otherwise, there is a risk of serious accident
due to toppling.
• The volume of hydraulic oil in each of the
cylinders varies depending on the temperature.
When a load is held stationary while hoisted,
oil temperature will drop with time and the
hydraulic oil volume will decrease, causing the
boom derricking angle to decrease and the
boom length to decrease.
If this occurs, derrick or telescope the boom as
necessary to correct the variations.
• Never leave the operator's seat while a load is
hoisted. When leaving the operating position,
first unload and then set the lock lever to the
"LOCK" position.
• When the hook block is not used, wind up the
winch.
Otherwise, there is a risk of the hook block
hitting workers near the load.
• Operations involving hoisting vibro compactors
or other vibrating attachments is prohibited.
The winch or other equipment may be
damaged by the vibration from the attachment.
HYDRAULIC OIL TEMPERATURE
PRECAUTIONS
If the hydraulic oil temperature exceeds 95 °C, a
warning is displayed. Continuing to use the
machine after the warning appears risks heat
damage to the high pressure hoses and seals,
resulting in burn injuries from hot oil spraying out.
If the warning appears, stop operation and wait
until the warning disappears.
Particular care is required during continuous
hook hoisting/lowering operation at high lifting
heights or continuous crane operation with the
accelerator pedal depressed, as this will increase
the hydraulic oil temperature.
