1. Open the right cover.
2. Remove the air cleaner clamps (2) (3
locations), and remove the dust cup (3).
3. Dispose of the dirt inside the dust cup (3), and
clean inside the cup.
4. Take out the outer element (4) of the double
element.
 Do not remove the inner element (5).
5. Wash the inside of the air cleaner body.
6. Shine a light into the element to inspect it
after cleaning. Replace the element if
inspection reveals small holes or thin parts or
if it is particularly dirty.
7. Shine a light into the element after cleaning
for inspection. If inspection reveals small
holes or thin parts, replace the element.
IMPORTANT
Do not tap or bump the element while cleaning
it.
8. Mount the outer element (4) after it has been
cleaned.
IMPORTANT
If clogging recurs rapidly even after cleaning
or replacing the outer element (4), replace the
inner element (5).
9. Align the mark on the dust cup (3) with the
mark on the air cleaner body, and secure in
place with the clip (2).
