3. Change the settings and click OK whe n yo u are done . Click Finish.
Deleting a backup set
If you created a Safe & Sound backup set as a pr otected volume file, you
cannot de lete it in My Computer or Windows Explorer. You can only delete the
protected volume file us ing Safe & Sound.
If you c reated a Safe & Sound backup set as a director y, you shoul d still delete
it using Safe & So und; howeve r, yo u can also d e le te the backup directory via
My Comput er or Wind ows Explorer .
To delete a backup set:
1. Start Safe & Sound.
2. Click Next > while the Delet e a Backup Set ra dio b utton is selected.
3. Select t he backup set to de le te and click Finis h. The n click Yes to confirm
the deletion.
Repairing and rebuilding a backup set
If you enc o unter a problem w ith the backup set itself,you c an repair o r rebuild
it. For example, if your computer crashes w hile the backup is being created or
updated automatically, the backup’s contents may bein complete or damaged.
Safe & Sound automatically c hecks the backup’s integrity when you start
Windows. If it is damaged, Safe & Sound starts and asks if you want t o repair
thebackupset.
To repair or rebuild a backup set:
1. Start McAfee Utilit ies Safe & Sound utility and click Next > while t h e
Repair or Rebuild Backup Set radio bu tton is sel ected.
2. Do one of the follow ing:
Click the Re pair b u tton and clic k Next > if you can see the back up
set in My Computer or W indows Explorer, but the information is
somehow damaged. For example, if a backup was not finished due
to a power outage or computer crash.
Click the Re build button and click Next > if you c an no longer see
the backup set (for example if the protect e d volum e file is no lo nge r
visible in M y Computer or W indows Explorer).
