How do I schedule QuickClean to run at a specific time?
Events for McAfee applications are managed by the McAfee Guar dian. Each
McAfeeapplicationaddstothelistofeventsthattheGuardiancanrunata
schedule d time.
To change the QuickClean schedule:
1. Right-click the red and white McAfee Guardian icon in the clock area of
the taskbar, and then select What’s Scheduled on the men u.
2. In the What’s Scheduled dialog box, select Q uickClean and click
Schedule.
3. In the Event Schedu le dialog box, choose the time interval for
QuickClean to run f ro m the dropdown list b ox .
Using SpaceMaker
If you need a specific amount of disk space on one of your drives, click
SpaceMaker in the U nInstaller screen and tell the Spac eMaker w izard how
much space you want, wha t k ind of files it can delete, and whet her yo u want
it to make c om press ed ba ckup c opies of the files. Then let it free space f or you.
NOTE: By default, files a re bac ked up before they are deleted. The
compressed backup uses less disk space than the deleted fi les, and gives
you a chance to recov er d eleted files later. E ach time you run t he
SpaceMaker w izard, you can turn off back ups or s pec ify a d ifferent
location for the backups .
Choose the SpaceMaker wizard to:
• Quickly c reate free space on one of yo ur drives.
You can s pecify the drive and the amount of space you want to free. As
soon as Spac eMaker frees the spec ified am ount of space, it stops deleting
files . If you choose to free as mu ch space as po ssib le, the wizard continues
to de le te files until it c an find no more file s tha t ar e old e nough to delet e in
the c ategories y ou have chosen.
• Delete files from more categories than Quic kC lean.
SpaceMaker lets you d elete files t hat some users m ight need, s uch as
bitmap and multimedia files, backup fil e s that ha ve the . BAK extension,
temporar y files that Windows or Windows applications gener ate , screen
savers , online help files, and so on.
