You ca n perform th e same actions o n individual files or gro ups of files that
the UnInstaller wizard s perform on entire a pplications.
Find out w hat ap plication uses a selected file.
Right-click File Lin ks from the popup men u to see what appli cation uses a
sele ct ed file . If the sele cted f ile is a n executable file, such as a .DLL or .EX E
file, the File Links dialog b ox displays a list of the f iles that are used by the
exec utable file itse lf .
Create custom file g ro up s that contain only f iles that you specify.
Set up custom file groups to archive or delet e file s from specified fo lders on
your com puter.

When you install applications or executable files, you can often choose not
to add them to the Programs list. These application files appear in t he
Disconn ected Executables file group list.
To add an executable file to the Wind ows Prog ra ms list , select the file name
in the PowerClean list. Then click Connect to Start menu on the Tools
menu and s pecify where you want t o add the file in the Programs list.
Why does the PowerClean feature open in read-only
mode?
W he n you click P owerClean in the UnIns taller main window, the PowerClean
feature opens in read-only mo de.
You see a message box explaining that yo u cannot de lete any files. This fea ture
protects you from deleting files or making other changes unintentionally .
Even in read-only mode, however, you can use the PowerClean feature to:
Explore the file links and R e gistry entries o n your computer .
This is a good way to learn how your computer works and what files it
uses.
You can select a file, and then choose File Lin ks from the popup menu to
see wha t applica tio n uses the se lected file.
Create a custom file group.
Although y ou cannot d elete, move, copy, or archive any files in read-only
mode, you can still define a custom file group to manage specific files
