McAfee Utilities Properties
Before using McA fee Utilities, you can a ccess the prope rties dia log box to
customize the way you want its components to display and work on y our
computer. From the Mc Af ee Utilitie s central window, click Options and select
Properties to display the Properties d ialog box. From this box, click any of the
tabs d ispla ye d to view and select available op tions.
Common Dialogs tab
The Commo n Dialogs t ab display s options you can select to enable yo u t o g et
in and out of applications faster than usual. Select E nable Co mmon Dialog
Enhancements to activate this option. Once this option is activated, you can
further custo mize the way you access a p plications v ia select ing any of the
following additional options:
• Show recent f iles. Se lect this option ifyou w ant to display list of documents
or fi les you ha ve recently o pened. Click document b utton to display list.
• Show recent folders. Select this o ption if you w ant to d isplay list of fo lders
you h ave recently looked into. Click folder button to display list.
• History List. Use this option to indic ate the numbe r of files or folders you
want to display in either of the list. Cl ick spin box to set the number of list
to be displayed.
After making your selection, click Apply; then click O K.
Icon Animation tab
The Icon An imation tab dis plays options you can select to enable yo u to
animate icons on your desktop.
• In the Animation Theme box, select from the drop down menu the type of
animation you want to use (e.g.,Circle, Current Theme, Radar, etc.). Notice
tha t e vents associated with the a nimatio n yo u selected is disp layed on the
lower par t of the dialog box.
You can c hange o r upd ate t hese events (e.g., w hen del eting, opening fil es,
sele ct ing files, e tc.); either double-click a line e ntr y , or click Options . Follow
the screen instructions to apply changes.
• Select Show Tray Icon if you want to display tray icon .
• Select Show in Display Properties if you want display icons in display
properties .
After making your selec tion, c lick Apply; then click OK.
