No file is d eleted if it has been modified or accessed withi n the per iod
specified by the SpaceMaker page of the Settings dialog box. The defaul t
period is 180 d ays.
To view or change SpaceMaker defaults, click Settings from the Options
menu, and cli ck the SpaceMak er tab in the Settings dialog box .
Each time you run SpaceMaker you can change most defaults temporarily.
The on e defa ult that yo u canno t change w hen the wiza rd is runni ng is th e age
that fi les must be before they can be deleted.
Using Remove
The Re move wizard ge ts rid of all t ra ces of th e application, including shor tcuts
and Registry entries. If the applicati on has associ ated data files, y ou can
remove th ose at the same time if you want to. If UnInstaller detects that an
app lication has an uninstall pro gra m of its ow n, you w ill be giv en the choice
to use the application’s u ninstall p rogram o r the UnInstalle r Remo ve w izard.
To start the Remove wizard, click Remove in the UnInstaller windo w.
Choose the R em ove wizard to completely rem ove:
• An application that you no lo nge r use.
As you buy new programs, old programs become obsolete or no longer
useful. The Remove w izard keeps yo ur com puter up-to-date by deleting all
old applications and cleaning up th e Registry and operating sy stem
settings associated with them.
• A demo application that you download ed and decided not to purchase.
Demo applications us ua lly cannot b e used af ter a spec if ie d date, but the y
still remain on your disk, taking up space. Use the Remove wizard to clean
them up.
• An applicat ion that you want to reinstall becau se it is behaving incorre ct ly.
Sometimes reinstalling a program from scratch fixes minor problems. The
Remove wizard can uninstall the program and remove all references to it
in the Registry and opera ting system files so that you can perform a clean
reinstallation.
WARNING:Make sure that y ou let the Remove wizard create a backup
copy of the application befor e it isr em oved. Then you can restore itif you
change your mind in a few minutes or a few d ays later. When you are
sure that you do not need the backup, d elete it to free disk s pace.
