McAfee VirusScan
The Network Associates SecureCast service provides a convenient method
you c an use to r eceive the latest virus definition (.DAT) file updates
automatically, as they become available, without your having to download
them.
NOTE: T o update the McAfee VirusScan software i nstalled on your
computer, click the update button in the McAfee Office main window.
Make sure that your PC is con ne ct e d to t he interne t prior to p erforming
this task.
Starting the VirusScan application
You can start the VirusScan application in its own window, or as part of a
scheduled scan task. T he method you c hoose d epends on what sort of scan
ope ra tion yo u want to run. When you firs t start it, the application wind ow
opens so that you can make changes to its configuration. Y ou must click Scan
Now or Run Now in a separate step to start an actual scan operation.
Displaying the VirusScan application main window
Follow these steps:
1. Click Start in the Windows taskbar, point to Programs,thentoMcAfee
Office. Next, choose McAfee VirusScan.
The VirusScan m ain w indow appears.
