Turn the engine
over using the
starter
1 Turn the engine over using the starter for 1-2 minutes.
After a few revolutions, the oil which has gathered in the combustion chambers
should have been pressed out through the openings for the glow plugs.
Repeat the procedure after about 5 minutes. It is essential to be sure that no more
oil is present in the combustion chambers!
2 Reinstall the glow plugs (AF size12, torque, 18Nm).

3 Reconnect the contact connectors and cables to the glow plugs (AF size8, tor-
que, 1.5 Nm).

4 Install the valve cover.
5 Install the electrical steel.

over with the igni-
tion key
1 Turn the ignition key clockwise to position III.
1.1 The engine must turn over.
