Service Manual 8 Hydraulic Clamping System

8.3 Start-up
For reasons of fire prevention, the machine comes with an empty oil tank.
The hydraulic system has been set up so as to function properly.
When filling in fresh hydraulic oil, follow the instructions given under "Hydraulic Oil
Change" in the Operating Manual.
The oil grades to be used are listed under "Lubricants" in the Operating Manual.
When you start up the machine, press the pedal first for preclamping to see whether
the clamp will come down.
If the movement is jerky, or if the clamp does not come to rest on the cutting table,
deaerate the hydraulic system.
This will be done automatically after you have triggered several cuts by the cut-
release pushbuttons with the clamping pressure set to minimum.
Actuate the "preclamping" function again to see whether the clamp moves smoothly,
otherwise repeat the procedure described above.
Caution:
Insufficiently levelling the machine at its place of installation and jamming of
the clamp tie rods can adversely affect the free running of the clamp. The
clamp is returned by compression or tension springs.
8.4 Adjusting the hydraulic clamping system
8.4.1 General
If the pressure control valves need to be readjusted proceed very gently and note the
following:
VD1, VD1.1
These valves serve for adjusting the preclamping force which should be less than 300 N
for PERFECTA 115/132 machines and less than 500 N for PERFECTA 168/225 models.
Such adjustment may only be checked and altered in conjunction with a load cell which
works within this range.
Impermissible pressure increase constitutes the hazard of injuries of the operator's
fingers or hands during preclamping.
These two valves must be readjusted so that both of them are equally involved in
decompression, i. e. when you are readjusting one of them and check its manometer
reading you should readjust the second one in the same sense.
