1.2 Safety inspection
Due to the way guillotines work involving such dangerous movements as clamping
and cutting, this type of machines must meet a number of safety requirements.
These requirements are met by the items mentioned in the Operating Manual under
"Safety Devices".
According to the rules for the prevention of accidents in the printing and paper process-
ing industries, BGR 500, the user must ensure that the safety devices – especially the
control system – will be inspected by an expert, viz after 5 (five) years for new machines
and later every 3 (three) years.
The results of such inspections must be recorded and filed.
Figure 2 shows you a checklist as is used by PERFECTA for acceptance.
Machines which have passed this test will be labelled (Figure 1) to indicate the next
inspection.
