11.5 Software

11.5 Software
When changing software in the PERFECTA control system, make sure that
compatible software versions for the PC, the control module and the safety
module are used.
11.5.1 Software update
To load the software follow the sequence of the steps below:
1. If you receive the software by e-mail the files and folders will be zipped. Such file
must first be unzipped.
2. Save the zipped folder and unpack its contents (upd, update, update01, updateX
und CF_Rest) in to the root of the USB stick, i. e. into the top level.
3. Power up the machine and wait until the normal screen is displayed.
4. Actuate the invisible button over the "Enter" button five times.
5. A screen containing the "Update", "Start" and "Exit" buttons will appear.
6. Press "OK" to acknowledge any possible error message.
7. Plug in the USB stick.
8. Press the "Update" button: A "Searching for upd.exe" message will appear.
9. After that, the screen will read "UPD.exe found".
Press the "Start" button: This will shift the update to the PC control. Wait until
you get the following message: "Please press any key to continue".
10. Remove the USB stick.
11. Turn off and back on the machine and wait until the normal screen is displayed.
12. Actuate the invisible button over the "Enter" button five times.
13. A screen containing the "Update", "Start" and "Exit" buttons will appear.
14. Press "OK" to acknowledge any possible error message.
15. This time, press "Exit" to change to the Windows user interface
16. Start the "Download" file from the \disk folder.
17. This will open the download screen.
18. Press the "Open" button.
19. From the file selection menu, choose the corresponding file, either …ASE.h86 or
…NoASE.h86 for a machine using or not using the AWR option, and actuate
"OK" to open it.
20. Wait until the numbers on top in the middle of the second line have stopped
changing.
21. In the switch cabinet, unplug the X512 eight-pole green connector (with the blue
and black wires) located on the bottom of the safety module (upper card).

22. Tell a second person to press left-hand cut-release pushbutton S50 and hold it.
23. Now, replug the green connector and then have the left-hand cut-release
pushbutton (S50) immediately be actuated five times (releasing and pressing
again) within the first two seconds.
24. Press the "Download" button: On the right of the "Download running" message,
a counter will be in action.
25. After you read the "Download successful" message turn off the machine and
then back on in the normal way.
26. Run factory calibration and check the basic functions – finished.
27. If the counter in the middle of the second line does not run and the "Download
successful" message does not appear even after one minute press the "Exit"
button and begin again from step 14.
