•HSSClient‐ContinueTransmission(HSC‐CT):Iftheunitlosessynchronizationwiththe
HSSMaster,thelinkremainsactive.Howev er,withoutsynchronizationpulses,itispos‐
siblethatthisunitwillcauseinterference.
•HSSClient‐DisableTransmission(HSC‐DT):Iftheunitlosessynchronizationwiththe
HSSMaster,thelinkisdroppeduntilthesynchronizationpulsesresume.Thissetting
prev entstheunitfromcausinginterference.
TheremoteODUsthatarenotlocatedatthehubsite,arecalledIndependentUnits.

ConnectinganHSSUnit
AsingleHSSunitsupportsuptotencollocatedODUs.Inadditiontoeachunitbeing
connectedtoitsPoEdevice,thecollocatedunithasanadditionalcablethatisconnectedto
theHSSUnit.TheHSSUnitisacompact,weatherproof(IP67)connectorboxthatisinstalled
onthesamemastastheODUs.AllcollocatedunitsconnecttothisboxusingCAT‐5ecable.
Cablesinpreparedlengthsareavailableforpurchase.
TheHSSunitissuppliedwithtenprotectivecovers;anyportnotinusemustbeclosedwitha
protectivecover.

• ForasingleHSSunit,ensurethatthecollocatedunitsareconnectedin
sequencefromSYNC1.IfanODUisremovedfromthehubsite,then
allremainingODUsmustbereconnectedtomaintaintheconnectivity.
• Youmaycascade(daisy‐chain)twoormoreHSSUnitswithanHSS
cable.Themethodisdescribedindetailbelow.
