Tire Tube Removal and Installation, i2
To remove tire tube:
1. MakesureSegwayPTispoweredoffand
unplugged.
Wear safety glasses to avoid
eye injury.
2. Removetire/wheelassembly(page4‐3).
3. Re
movevalvestemcapandreleaseairfrom
tirebypushingdownonvalveneedle.
Maintaindownwardpressureonvalve
needlewhilesqueezingtiretoensuretireis
completelyemptiedofair.(Figure4‐5)

The i2 tire is tightly fitted to wheel in a manner
similar to a motorcycle tire mounted to a rim.
4. Usingabarclamp,breaktirebeadby
positioningclampjawsagainstinnerand
outersidewalloftireandtighteningclamp.
Continuetobreaktirebeadinthismanner,
shiftingclampover6”eachtime.(Figure4‐
6).
Carefully position clamp to avoid puncturing tire.
Insert clamp on tire wall, centering clamp at tire
specification label.
