EMI Filter Removal and Installation
When to Replace
Replacetheelectromagneticinterference(EMI)
filterwhendirectedtodosobytheSegwayPTi2,
x2DiagnosticsGuide,orasadvisedbyaSegway
ServiceRepresentative.
To remove EMI filter:
1. MakesureSegwayPTispoweredoffand
unplugged.
2. Remov
econsolecoverandsetaside
(page9‐4).
3. LiftoffUI
CandplaceinESDbagoronclean
ESDworksurface(page9‐9).
4. Dis
connect(2)steeringsensorharness
connectorsattopofEMIfilter.Keep
retentionputtyforreuseduringinstallation.
Whilepressingconnectorlockingtabs,
gentlyremoveconnectorstodisconnect.Do
notstrainharnesses.SeeFigure9‐13.

If connector locking tab breaks off or if insulation
is damaged or pinched, replacement of the
steering sensor is required.
