Battery Removal and Installation
TheSegwayPThastwobatterypacks.ThePT
operatesattheperformancelevelallowedbythe
lesserbattery.Ifitisnecessarytoreplacea
batterybecauseofdamageorafaultcondition
otherthanendofservicelife,considerwhether
toreplacebothbatteriesbasedupontheservice
lifere
mainingintheundamaged,fault‐free
battery.
Redundancyisacr
iticalsafetyfeaturebuiltinto
theSegwayPTthatalsoappliestothebatteries.
Therefore,youshouldreplacebatteriesinpairs.
To isolate a problem to a specific battery, swap
front and rear battery packs to confirm that the
error condition follows the problem battery.
To remove batteries:

unplugged.
