5.8.8.1.4 Tx header
A header for the received data is defined at the output via the Tx header parameter. Rx
header and Rx terminator are removed once the data is received. The string is reframed
with Tx header and Tx terminator for the data output.
The input is restricted to two characters and must be entered via the context menu or the
button. It is possible to enter control characters and constants. The input field is high-
lighted in red if invalid characters are entered.
5.8.8.1.5 Tx terminator
A terminator for the received data is defined at the output via the Tx terminator parameter.
Rx header and Rx terminator are removed once the data is received. The string is reframed
with Tx header and Tx terminator for the data output.
The input is restricted to two characters and must be entered via the context menu or the
button. It is possible to enter control characters and constants. The input field is high-
lighted in red if invalid characters are entered.
5.8.8.2 Auxiliary input/Auxiliary read result
This option can be used if you intend for data from an external device such as a hand-held
scanner to be output instead of the specific sensor reading. The auxiliary input must be
made when the sensor's reading gate is closed.
The external device data is entered in the sensor's database and output immediately at all
configured interfaces – including the fieldbus interfaces – in the same way as a specific rea-
ding result.
This generates the same format as is used in the case of a specific result. The data is inter-
preted by the sensor and can also control the digital outputs and, if necessary, the beeper.
The data can also be checked using evaluation conditions (e.g., at Match 1).
5.8.8.2.1 Rx header
The Rx header parameter is used to define a header for the received data. This header is
used by the sensor to identify the start of the input data. The identification must differ from
the SOPAS command. It is recommended to use the default setting.
The header is restricted to two characters and must be entered via the context menu or the
button. It is possible to enter control characters and constants. The input field is high-
lighted in red if invalid characters are entered.
5.8.8.2.2 Rx terminator
The Rx terminator parameter is used to define a terminator for the received data. This ter-
minator is used by the sensor to identify the end of the input data.
The input is restricted to two characters and must be entered via the context menu or the
button. It is possible to enter control characters and constants. The input field is high-
lighted in red if invalid characters are entered.
5.8.8.2.3 Bar code type
The Bar code type parameter determines which bar code type is used to enter the received
data in the sensor. The selected bar code type must also be enabled in the sensor.
For the U
SE FIRST CHARACTER FOR IDENTIFICATION setting, the first character after the Rx header
must correspond to the code ID for the required bar code.
