5.10.11.1.2 Communication protocol
The communication modes for exchanging data between the reading device and the field-
bus master are selected via the Communication protocol parameter.
• O
PERATING MODE BMV10: This mode is compatible with the data communication via the
SICK bus connection module BMV10/BMH10. For this, the reading device is connected to
a Profibus proxy CDF600 while other participants in the fieldbus communicate via the bus
connection module BMV10. No output states are transferred. The fieldbus module's digital
switching inputs and outputs can be used for the reading device regardless.
• CMF400
OPERATING MODE WITHOUT HANDSHAKE: This mode is compatible with the data com-
munication of the fieldbus module CMF400-1x01. For this, the reading device is connected
to a Profibus proxy CDF600 while other participants in the fieldbus communicate via the
fieldbus module CMF400. This mode operates without byte handshake and is used for test
purposes during data transmission. The timeout of the handshake is deactivated.
• CMF400
OPERATING MODE: This mode is compatible with the data communication of the
fieldbus module CMF400-1x01. It is used for exchanging data during normal operation
when used in existing systems. For this, the reading device is connected to a Profibus proxy
CDF600 while other participants in the fieldbus communicate via the fieldbus module
CMF400.
• O
PERATING MODE CDF600: This mode is used for exchanging data during normal operation
in new reading device installations. The fieldbus module operates as a proxy.
• O
PERATING MODE CDF600 WITHOUT HANDSHAKE: This mode functions without a byte handsha-
ke and is used for testing data transmission. The timeout of the handshake is deactivated.
Individual parameter values are not supported by all device types.
The communication modes without handshake are used when the application does not re-
quire monitoring.
5.10.11.1.3 Protocol/Output format
An output format is assigned to the interface via the Protocol/Output format parameter.
Output formats are defined under Data processing.
5.10.11.1.4 Using PLC output bit 0
Use of the PLC output is determined via the Using PLC output bit 0 parameter.
• N
O FUNCTION: The PLC output is not used.
• O
BJECT TRIGGER: A digital signal is sent via the PLC output. To use this function, the OBJECT
TRIGGER CONTROL parameter must be set to the FIELDBUS INPUT value. The OBJECT TRIGGER CON-
TROL parameter is located under READING CONFIGURATION -> OBJECT TRIGGER CONTROL.
• S
ET/RESET EXTERNAL OUTPUT 1/2: External output 1 or 2 is reset. To use this function, the
E
XTERNAL OUTPUT 1 or EXTERNAL OUTPUT 2 parameter must be set to the FIELDBUS INPUT value.
The E
XTERNAL OUTPUT 1/2 parameters can be found under NETWORK/INTERFACES/IOS -> DIGITAL
OUTPUTS/BEEPER.
• D
ISTANCE CONFIGURATION BIT 0/1: The DYNAMIC FOCUS parameter is controlled via the PLC out-
put. To use this function, the D
YN. CON. MODE parameter must be set to the FIELDBUS value.
