Mode of functioning of option handling
Principle
Option handling in the ET 200pro Distributed I/O System allows you to customize station
configurations and achieve flexible expansion stages while retaining the configuration and
control program.
Option handling enables you to:
● Implement I/O systems with precise, modular configuration in which the number and type
of inputs and outputs can be adapted to the exact requirements of the supplied machine
(or equipment).
● Set up the ET 200pro according to the required automation task
1. Configure the entire ET 200pro station including all planned (future) options.
2. Basic configuration: Mount and wire the basic configuration for the automation task and
commission the system.
3. Options: Expand the basic configuration using the configured modules (from Step 1) for
the option. You can activate and commission the modules without reconfiguring.
