9.2.7 Functional allocation
In the 'Control tree', a function is assigned to a device from the 'Hardware tree',
for example a monitoring function (cause) is assigned to an input or a control
function (effect) is assigned to an output.
In the 'Control tree', the function of a logical element from the 'Detection tree' is
evaluated (cause) or controlled (effect). For example, the alarm condition of the
'Zone' is evaluated or the 'Zone' is switched on or off.
The figure below shows the interrelations of the aforementioned structures by way
of example.

Alarming equipment (e.g., acoustic or optical alarm devices) is actuated in order to call up
immediately available intervention personnel (e.g., in-house staff) and to alert people of a possible fire
hazard.

Alarming equipment (e.g. remote transmission) is actuated and external intervention forces (e.g. the
fire brigade) are alerted.
