2.4 Starting
When you install the BATCH flexible system it will be added to the Windows
95/NT start menu.
You should use the Windows procedures to place the BATCH flexible icons
on the desktop so that you can start the BATCH flexible application you want
by double-clicking on the corresponding icon after starting Windows 95/NT.
From the Windows desktop or start menu you can only start the Batch
applications Object Manager (BOM), Recipe Editor and Batch Planning. The
applications Batch Control and Batch Data Management can only be started
from WinCC (see below).
If you start one of the above-named applications from Windows the
following applies:
S The BATCH application does not set up any WinCC interconnection. This
also applies if WinCC is already running.
S The Windows user specified at logging-on into the system is accepted as
user here. Any later changes of the user in WinCC will be ignored.
You can start the Report Designer application directly from the BATCH
flexible directory ’C:\Siemens\BATCHflexible\BFRepDes’ by
double-clicking on the file ’Repdes.exe’. Please note that the path specified,
’C:\Siemens\BATCHflexible’, will not be valid if another directory was
specified when BATCH flexible was installed. In this case you will find the
Report Designer in the directory specified at installation.
Another way of starting BATCH flexible is via the OS user interface:
The second set of WinCC keys includes a key for selecting BATCH flexible.
When you press this key you will be given the opportunity of starting the
BATCH applications. In this case the following rules apply:
S The batch application works with a WinCC interconnection.
S If the current WinCC project is a different one from the WinCC project
which the BATCH application was last connected to, you will be
informed of this and you can then decide whether work should continue
with the current WinCC project.
S The current WinCC user is accepted as user. If the user is subsequently
changed under WinCC the change will also be effected in the Batch
application.
S If you start a Batch application from WinCC which was previously started
without WinCC, the Batch application will be post-connected to WinCC
with the current WinCC user also being taken over.
