2.2 Installing and removing the BATCH
flexible
software
The BATCH flexible software supplied includes a setup program
(SETUP.EXE) which will automatically install and initialize up to four
software packages (Recipe System, Batch Control, Batch Planning, Batch
Data Management). The installation process includes the following stages:
S Instructions, inputting information and specifying which software
packages are to be installed.
S Installation and initialization of the software packages.
S Initialization and setting-up user rights
S Authorization
Once SETUP.EXE has been launched a dialog is displayed which also shows
the version identifier of BATCH flexible. In addition you can choose a
SETUP language from the languages available. After this, the following
windows will be displayed, with the input possibilities now described:
1. You should note and comply with the instructions which appear on the
screen:
– No Windows programs should be open at this time !
– You will require approval for your license !
2. Type in the following user details and then confirm your inputs
(mandatory):
– User name
– Company name
3. The following possibilities for the configuration can be specified:
– Single-user system
– Server computer (relates to the database)
– Client computer
4. You must specify the path for the components which are to be used
together with PCS 7 products. This window will not appear if the path has
already been specified during a different installation of a PCS 7 product.
5. You can select the target directory for BATCH flexible from the
displayed selection dialog.
