5.1 Calibration with calibration weights
Introduction
As a rule, the characteristic curve can be determined with 2 calibration points. Only determine
additional calibration points for non-linear systems.
Requirement
The scale characteristic curve of the scale consisting of calibration weights and adjustment
digits of the electronic weighing system is not known.
Procedure
1. Select the "Service mode ON (1)" command.
2. Read DR03.
3. Configure the Justagegewichte [calibrationWeight0 to calibrationWeight4] and other
parameters in DR03.
DR03 Calibration parameters (Page 58)
4. Write DR03.
5. Select the "Service mode OFF (2)" command.
6. Start the "Set calibration point 0 (60)" command with the scale empty.
7. Load the scale with the specified calibration weight.
The difference between 2 calibration weights must be at least 40 000 adjustment digits,
otherwise the calibration command can be rejected. This corresponds to approximately 2%
of the nominal load of all load cells (2% of (number of load cells x nominal load of one single
load cell)).
Load cell characteristic value Adjustment digits (approx.) at nominal load
1 mV/V 20 000 000
2 mV/V 20 000 000
4 mV/V 20 000 000
8. Start the "Set calibration point 1 (61)" command.
9. If you want to define more than 2 calibration points, proceed in the same way with all
calibration points.
10.Use increasing calibration weights during calibration.
11.Read DR03.
