8. When the results are satisfactory, record the
station. To do this, press
[ENT] or the REC softkey.
9. Enter the height of instrument, if required. Press
[ENT]. The ST field defaults to the last recorded PT +
1.
10. To change the station name, move to the ST field
and edit or replace the text.
Note – If you have set Split ST to Yes, the ST field defaults to the last recorded ST value + 1.

11. BS defaults to the first observed point.
12. To change the BS, press the
Change softkey.
13. Select the BS point that you want to use and press
[ENT].
14. To finish the resection setup, move the cursor to
the BS field and press
[ENT].
Note – The minimum data required for a resection is
either three angle shots, or one angle shot and one
distance shot. If you use a distance shot, the distance
between the target points must be greater than the measured distance. Stn-Z is calculated
from distance-measured data. If no distances are measured, then Stn-Z is calculated using
angle-only measurements to points with 3D coordinates.
Advanced feature: Viewing and deleting a measurement in resection
To check the measurements to each known point, press
the
View softkey on the calculated STN (sigma or
coordinate) screen.
